KOHIMA — Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, on Saturday called for Naga unity to chart the way forward amidst Naga society’s challenges.

Addressing the Chokri Area Union Kohima (CAUK) general session 2025 held at Hotel Japfü, Kohima, the advisor observed that Naga society is faced with problems such as substance abuse, unemployment, and other issues.

Khamo emphasised the role of parents in addressing these challenges, as everything begins at home.

For a society or nation to progress, he opined that it does not solely depend on its resources, but on the leadership at the forefront. He however expressed concern over society’s resistance to change.

Asserting the need for a change in behaviour, approach, and thinking, he called for collective efforts to bring about change and development.

Speaking about the recently held Village Fair at Phusachodu, where the event marked the launch of “One family, one project; one family, one entrepreneur; and one family, one prayer time” initiatives under The Green Village Link, Khamo implored the need to inculcate a work culture that is biblically aligned with traditional values in order to address corruption.

He maintained that entrepreneurship is the way forward to address unemployment, emphasising dedication, while those aspiring for government jobs should be sincere and hardworking.

Considering the passage of highways through Chokri land, he urged the people to return to their villages, plan well for their livelihoods, and boost the economy. He also advised the community to live well and not bring a bad name to the community.
