Advisor kiusumew inagurates sub-post offoce in Pungro

  • DIMAPUR — The Branch Post Office in Pungro was officially upgraded to a Sub-Post Office with PIN Code 798617 on May 7.

  • An update from the Postal department stated that the Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA) and advisor of Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Relief and Rehabilitation, S Kiusumew, inaugurated the upgraded facility in the presence of Dr. Alice K Vizo, director of Postal Services and other dignitaries including the ADC and EAC of Pungro, officials from various departments and representatives of civil society organisations of Pungro sub-division.

  • It stated that the advisor unveiled the commemorative monolith, followed by a dedicatory prayer said by Tsuyihba, pastor of PTBC.

  • Speaking on the occasion, Kiusumew has expressed gratitude to the Postal department for responding to the longstanding needs of the people in the easternmost part of Nagaland. He urged the postal staff to serve proactively and encouraged the public to make use of the department’s services and support its operations.

  • In her address, Dr. Alice encouraged the citizens of Pungro sub-division to fully avail themselves of the services and schemes offered by the Postal department and to cooperate with staff to ensure smooth functioning of the office for public benefit.

  • Short speeches were also delivered by Neilezo Tep, ADC of Pungro; JP Shahoto, president of GBs’ Forum; Kongsu, president of PFPSD; and Shojiba, ward representative.

  • Chipong, pastor of UPC, said the invocation prayer and concluded with a benediction said by Rev. Fr. Peter, parish priest of St. Paul’s Church, Pungro.
