
Imkongmar along with other officials of Sericulture
department during the inauguration of seri-tourism model farming centre in
Pfutsero on April 11.
- DIMAPUR — Advisor
of Sericulture and Minority Affairs, Imkongmar, inaugurated the seri-tourism
model farming centre in Pfutsero and Medziphema on April 11.
- The department initiated the innovative programme with an
aim to disseminate knowledge about art of silk-making among the local populace.
- An update from the Sericulture department stated that the
centre would attract silk enthusiasts from outside the state. It would also
provide opportunities for school and college students to visit the centre and
learn about silk for self-employment in the future career.

- It added that the department would conduct different
technical skill training programmes for the rural people to uplift their
economy.
- The advisor encouraged the public to make best use of the
centre to learn various activities involves in silk production.
