Advisor Imkong L Imchen was airlifted to Guwahati for specialised treatment after suffering a heart attack in Kohima.

KOHIMA — Advisor for Information and Public Relations and Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, was airlifted to Guwahati on Monday after being hospitalised in Kohima on November 8 following health complications.
Sources from the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) confirmed to Eastern Mirror that Imchen was taken outside the state for further treatment. He was released from the hospital between 9 am and 10 am and is understood to have been flown to Guwahati and, according to the family, is undergoing medical care at a private hospital.
On the evening of November 9, a consultant from NHAK informed this newspaper that the 75-year-old legislator was “doing much better”. The doctor stated that the MLA had suffered a heart attack on the night of November 8 and was placed on a ventilator. He also has underlying kidney-related issues and diabetes.

The consultant further mentioned that Imchen’s condition had improved by Sunday evening, and the plan was to shift him outside the state on Monday for further specialised care.
Imchen is a five-time elected member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from the Koridang Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung district. In the 2023 general election, he was elected on a BJP ticket.
