Senior legislator Imkong L Imchen was hospitalised at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima after a heart attack, with doctors reporting his condition is improving.

KOHIMA — Senior legislator and Advisor for Information and Public Relations, and Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen was hospitalised in Kohima on Saturday following health complications.
Sources from the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) confirmed to Eastern Mirror on Sunday evening that Imchen was admitted to the hospital late Saturday night, November 8.
“He (Imchen) is doing better,” the source said.
A doctor attending to him informed, “Last night, he had a heart attack, so we admitted him and placed him on a ventilator. He also has kidney and sugar-related issues.”
The hospital consultant added that Imchen was “doing much better” on Sunday evening.
The source further said that plans are being made to shift him for further treatment outside the state on Monday.
It may be mentioned that Imchen, a senior legislator of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly representing the Koridang Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung district, was first elected as MLA in 2003.
The 75-year-old has been elected to the House five times. In the 2023 general election, he was elected on a BJP ticket and currently serves as Advisor for Information and Public Relations, and Soil and Water Conservation.
