DIMAPUR — The accused in sexual assault of a minor girl in Lengrijan, Watimeren aka O Wati, has been arrested after the District Court in Dimapur refused to grant him anticipatory bail.
The development was confirmed to Eastern Mirror by Chang Union Dimapur (CUD) joint secretary Stephen Chang. The case involves allegations that the accused sexually assaulted a minor girl who had reportedly been staying at his residence for educational purposes for nearly two years.

The accused had earlier secured anticipatory bail after the case came to light. Following this, Chang organisations submitted a representation to the competent authority seeking cancellation of the bail.
Addressing a press conference earlier on May 28, the CUD reiterated that the case was already under legal process and maintained that there would be no negotiation on the matter from its side.
