  • DIMAPUR — It has been 96 hours since 19-year-old Pesha Khiamniungan went missing from Model village, 5th Mile, Chümoukedima, and despite a formal police complaint and community-wide search efforts, his whereabouts remain unknown.

  • Pesha, a Class 11 student at Unity Christian Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, was last seen on the afternoon of Saturday, May 24. According to his father, M Tunyu Khiamniungan, the teenager left home around 1 pm on his red Scooty (registration number AS-12-G-6685) after speaking with a friend over the phone. He has not been seen or heard from since, and his mobile phone has remained switched off.

  • A missing person FIR was lodged at Diphupar Police Station on May 26, two days after his disappearance. The teenager was reportedly wearing a white shirt with black shorts when he left home.

  • Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

  • Speaking at a press conference held at their residence on Wednesday, the boy’s father shared that Pesha had moved to Dimapur just two months ago after completing his studies in Assam. He recently gained admission to Unity Christian Higher Secondary School and was still new to the area, with only a few acquaintances.

  • The Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD) and Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD), whose presidents also addressed the press, said that Pesha did not have any fights or arguments with his family or friends, nor is he into any “bad habits.” The community had launched a search operation immediately after the incident. However, no leads have been found so far.
