Police have arrested five persons in connection with a robbery and theft case
reported earlier this year.
- A press release on Thursday stated that the arrests were
made by cops from Chiephobozou Police Station on May 6 following an
investigation into the theft of a car engine and gearbox reported on March 12
from a garage in Nerhe Model Village.
- The suspects have been identified as Petekhrietuo, 22 years
old; Ruokuozhalie, 24 years old; Neizasetuo, 26 years old; Raj, 25 years old;
and Throngpise, 25 years old.

- “Preliminary inquiries revealed that the suspects were not
only involved in the theft of the car engine and gearbox but also in
housebreaking within the Chiephobozou Police Station jurisdiction, stealing iron
materials, and selling them to scrap dealers. They were also involved in theft
cases around Jalukie,” it stated.
- A case has been registered under section 305/3/(5) of the
Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
