DIMAPUR — The 4th Nagaland Photography Festival 2025, organised by the Photography Club Dimapur (PCD) on the theme ‘Vision 360 – Vision in every direction,’ kicked off on Friday at Mandeville Garden, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur,
Addressing the inaugural programme as special guest, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, said that the gathering is special not only because it brings together art and culture, but also because it reflects the spirit of collaboration and learning.
The deputy CM acknowledged the Photography Club Dimapur for the effort and vision in creating a meaningful platform, and noted that it is not often that they see artists, photographers, musicians, entrepreneurs, and promoters of tourism sharing the same stage.
Patton said that photography can show the strength of traditions, the beauty of landscapes, and the daily life of communities in ways that go beyond spoken words.

He noted that many a times, the enthusiasm and creativity of the youth go unnoticed because they lack a platform, but by including music evenings, cosplay events, and spaces for entrepreneurs and startups, the festival creates room for young people to express themselves.
Patton emphasised that events like this festival can spark a journey in art, music, or business for many young individuals. He highlighted that supporting youth is, in essence, investing in the future of society, underscoring the importance of nurturing young talent and creativity.
“The state is rich in traditions, in natural beauty, and in cultural expressions and by showcasing their heritage through the lens of photography, they are not only promoting tourism but also presenting their identity to the world,” he said.
Acknowledging the effort of the organisers, he mentioned that it takes commitment and vision to bring together so many aspects into one festival and thanked the participants for making it possible for such an event to thrive.
“As we celebrate through exhibitions, workshops, and performances, let’s all reflect on the values behind this festival, which teaches them to listen to one another, to learn continuously, and to honour both tradition and innovation,” the deputy CM added.
Vice president of PCD Sorei Jagoi delivered the welcome address, while the vote of thanks was presented by Mireuyi Herie, convenor of the 4th Nagaland Photography Festival.
The inaugural programme was followed by an arm wrestling super exhibition match featuring six national players from Nagaland to promote fitness, after which a music and entertainment session took place, with Moko Koza as the showstopper.
