KIPHIRE — The 30th Teipo Kiusam Town Students’ Union (KTSU) games & sports-cum -literary session, themed ‘Empowering excellence through discipline & imagination,’ was inaugurated at public ground, Kiusam town, on Monday.
The inaugural programme commenced with an invocation by Rev. Rangthong, pastor of KTBC.
Delivering the initiation speech, Pongsu K Issac, vice president of KTSU, called upon the students and participants to make the best use of the limited opportunities available to them in order to succeed.
He encouraged the youth to remain focused and disciplined, stating that such platforms are crucial for shaping character, leadership, and excellence among students.
The programme was attended by M Taichang, president of Tikhir Union, Kiusam town, as the special guest. In his address, he urged the participants to uphold true sportsmanship throughout the games and literary events.
Emphasising the value of perseverance, he remarked that there is no substitute for hard work, and encouraged the students to pursue their goals with dedication and sincerity.

A special presentation by Akhunong added vibrancy to the programme, followed by the oath-taking ceremony administered by Sutsuthong R, KTSU games & sports secretary, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to fair play and adherence to the rules.
The vote of thanks was delivered by K Shiussumong, executive chairman of KTSU, and the programme concluded with a benediction by Samuel Kurak, catechist of St. John Church, Kiusam.
The inaugural ceremony culminated with the lighting of the torch and formal declaration of the games & sports by the special guest, marking the official commencement of the 30th Teipo KTSU session.
The session will continue until December 30, during which literary activities will be conducted.
The literary programme will be attended by the literary guest Avila, Junior Engineer, PWD (Housing), who will interact with and motivate the students, highlighting the importance of imagination, creativity, and intellectual growth.
