- DIMAPUR — Two
members of the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) were reportedly killed in an ambush by
Indian security forces near Langkhu village in “Myanmar-occupied Nagaland” on
Wednesday morning.
- A press release issued by the group on Thursday night stated
that the incident occurred at 10:00 am when a patrol unit of the group’s
western command came under heavy fire. The ambush resulted in the deaths of
‘Sgt. Maj.’ Nyaklung and ‘Lance Cpl.’ Neyung Aung.

- “Despite being heavily out-numbered our courageous Naga
soldiers put up a brave fight against the enemy forces which lasted for one
hour and were able to retrieve the bodies of our cadres,” it stated.
- Following the incident, the group has posthumously promoted
both cadres in recognition of their bravery and conveyed condolences to the
bereaved families.
- Meanwhile, attempts to obtain confirmation from the Indian
Army regarding the reported gunfight—claimed by the Naga group—remained
unanswered at the time of filing this report.
