
The newly professed Ursuline Franciscan sisters, along with
clergy and other members of the religious community, pose for a group photo
following their vow ceremony at Holy Cross Church, Dimapur, on Tuesday.
- DIMAPUR — Nineteen Ursuline Franciscan sisters
of the North East Province pronounced their religious vows at Holy Cross
Church, Dimapur, on Tuesday.
- According to an update, 14 novices made their temporary
profession, while five sisters made their perpetual profession. The theme for
the event was "Called to love and serve."
- The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev.
Joachim Walder, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Aizawl, and concelebrated by
41 priests. In his homily, Bishop Walder spoke on the meaning of vocation,
describing it as "a precious gift from God, both to the individual and to
the Church”. He encouraged the sisters to remain committed to their religious
life.
- Rev. Sr. Juliana Pereira, provincial superior of the North
East Province, thanked the families of the newly professed sisters for
supporting their decision to enter religious life.

- After the Mass, a felicitation programme was held. The choir
presented a welcome song, and the novices introduced the newly professed.
- Sr. Rene Rita offered a vote of thanks on behalf of the
professed sisters, acknowledging the support of their formators, families, and
others involved in the event.
