The 173 Battalion CRPF distributes solar lamps to local villages in Dimapur under its civic action initiative.
DIMAPUR — The 173 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a civic action programme (CAP) at F Company, 173 Battalion CRPF, Powergrid, Dimapur, under its civic action initiatives for the year 2026-27.
As part of the programme, solar lamps were distributed to beneficiaries from Kuda village, Phaipijang, and neighbouring villages, according to an update.
Commandant Narayan Balai (AOL) of the 173 Battalion CRPF attended the occasion as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he expressed satisfaction with the organisation of the programme and affirmed the commitment of the CRPF towards serving the local community through various civic initiatives.
He stated that such programmes play an important role in bridging the gap between security forces and the local populace, as well as in strengthening mutual trust, cooperation, and goodwill.
The programme was attended by Chief Manager of Powergrid Dimapur Dr. Kaustav Jyoti Kalita, Assistant Commandant Withuiliu Newmai, gaon buras, and other local representatives.
