16th Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament from December 8

DIMAPUR — The 16th edition of the Jalukie Valley Open Football Tournament, organised by the Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO), is scheduled to commence on December 8 at the Samziuram Local Ground.

In a press statement, the JVYO encouraged all young and skilled local players to take part and gain exposure to larger competitive arenas in line with the organisation’s vision of promoting local talent and providing opportunities.

In this edition, the JVYO has enhanced the prize pool in recognition of the passion and enthusiasm shown by the participating teams in past tournaments. The proposed prizes include INR 2,00,000 for the champion, INR 1,00,000 for the runner-up, and individual awards of INR 5,000 each for the Golden Boot, Golden Glove, and Player of the Tournament. Trophies and certificates will also be presented.

The entry fee for each team is INR 5,000, and entry forms can be obtained from Mpom Pharmacy, Jalukie town, upon payment of INR 100. Forms will be available starting November 7.

The JVYO also expressed regret for not being able to organise the tournament in recent years. It stated that the vision to host the tournament on a turf ground remains steadfast, and efforts are ongoing to make this dream a reality in the near future.
