1,686 entrepreneurs from Nagaland availed NSSH scheme

A total of 1,686 entrepreneurs from Nagaland have availed the National Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme till June 2025.

KOHIMA — A total of 1,686 entrepreneurs from Nagaland have availed the National Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme till June 2025.


This was informed by Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Jitan Ram Manjhi, in his reply to the Lok Sabha on Thursday.


The scheme seeks to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SCs and STs and to facilitate fulfilment of the mandated 4% procurement from SC and ST Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) under the Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises.


The minister also updated that through this scheme, a total of 1108 candidates from Nagaland have been trained under capacity building programme of NSSH scheme till June 2025.


Minister Manjhi stated that to achieve the scheme's objectives, several initiatives were implemented, including subsidy of up to INR 25 lakh for plant and machinery procurement; skilling and capacity-building programmes; market linkages through special assistance schemes; and support for competitiveness, including testing charges, export promotion council fees, and e-commerce portal memberships.

On eligibility, he said that to avail the benefit of NSSH scheme, entrepreneurs should be SC or ST, and further in the case of proprietary MSE, the proprietor shall be SC or ST, and in the case of partnership MSE, the SC/ST partners shall be holding at least 51% shares of the unit and in the case of private limited companies, at least 51% of shares shall be held by SC/ST promoters.


To be eligible for the NSSH scheme, entrepreneurs must belong to the SC or ST category, with specific shareholding requirements for different business structures: For proprietary MSE, the proprietor must be SC or ST; for partnership MSE, /ST partners must hold at least 51% shares; and for private limited companies, SC/ST promoters must hold at least 51% shares.

Overall, the minister updated that the NSSH scheme has facilitated 1,45,200 SC and ST beneficiaries through its various activities till June 2025, and also under the capacity building programme, 44,097 SC and ST candidates have been trained till June 2025.
