DIMAPUR — The 14th Kohima District Table Tennis Championship-cum-Veterans Open was held from August 14 to 16 at Kohima Indoor Table Tennis Stadium with 82 participants, including 65 male and 17 female players, across different categories.
According to a press release, the event was supported and sponsored by parents and guardians of players along with veterans Vikuo Metha, Kezhaletuo Meze, Chombenthung Ovung, Mayangba, Temjen Jamir and Roland Ngullie.
The top three players from each category have been selected to represent Kohima district at the forthcoming Inter-District Table Tennis Championship.

Seyievilie Seyie won the men’s singles title for the sixth time, while Thejavinuo Rio clinched the women’s singles title for the eighth time.
In the veterans section, events were held in doubles, 50+ men’s singles and 40+ men’s singles. The open category featured doubles, men’s singles and women’s singles. Age-group competitions were conducted in under-17, under-15 and under-13 for both boys and girls, with first, second and third positions awarded in each category.
