DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13: The Zeliangrong Youth Front alleged that innumerable unlawful and anti people activities are going on since the creation of the so-called “RNYO/RNYOM” by a few individuals.
ZYF assistant secretary G Golmei, in a release, today alleged these activities included even indulging in internal village issue by siding with one group while inciting tension, creating trouble and intimidation to other group in the village, collecting money from the villagers, imposing unreasonable fine/tax and harassment meted out to people by using arms gathered from two/three villages.
The release also stated that the functionaries of the “RYNO” have been taking shelter at Namthanjang village since July 6, 2016 till date just like the underground cadres. “The ‘RNYO’ group is even frequently frisking vehicles plying on NH No. 37 at nightfall which is well known to the people particularly the neighboring villages of the village where the members of this group is stationed,” the ZYF said.
It said arms confrontation with one underground group under Suspension of Operation (SoO) almost occurred on one occasion when the occupants of the vehicle frisked by them turned out to be underground cadres. The situation could have turned into serious problems for the people of the neighbouring villages in particular as also had the potential of creating ‘serious magnification’ between Zeliangrong and the community of the underground cadres they belong to had the underground group not maintained maximum restraint on that particular day, the ZYF said.
“These facts can be ascertained by the authority concern if yearn for peace and tranquility and free movement of vehicle from any kind of disturbances and unlawful activities on NH No. 37,” it stated.
The ZYF said the “RNYO” does not represent any section of Zeliangrong society or have any authority to carry out any people’s issue.
The release said the ZYF being the responsible people-based organization has been reminding each and every reasonable and responsible person to know the genesis, background and ground reality of any issue so that people’s issues do not dilute. The ZYF also fervently appealed especially to all those elders who, it alleged, are the architect of divisions, who are also glorifying sectionalism and factionalism in the society and consider themselves as the “champions of fragmentation and disunity” to realize the sentiments and interest of the people before the wrath of the people befalls on them.
