DIMAPUR — The monthly district planning and development
board (DPDB) meetings for Zunheboto and Phek districts were held on Monday.

Zunheboto: The
Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference hall under the
chairmanship of MLA and chairman of the Zunheboto DPDB, Picto Shohe, according
to a DIPR report.
Addressing the meeting, Shohe appealed to all responsible
heads of departments (HoDs) to continue serving the district with sincerity and
to be as attentive as possible during the board meetings. Picto further
requested members to remain vigilant in development matters concerning Atoizu,
while highlighting that Atoizu is still without bus services, despite being one
of the earliest subdivisions in the state.
He further appealed to the concerned departments to improve
the roadways in the area, considering the presence of Khelhoshe Polytechnic at
Asukuto town.
The president of ZRSU expressed concern regarding the poor
attendance of some officials in the district during their office surveys. He
appealed to all HoDs to remain stationed at their respective places of posting
for the welfare of the district. The lack of sincerity shown by some HoDs was a
grave concern and needed to be addressed at the earliest, he added.
Further, discussing an agenda submitted by the chairman for
the creation of an AHO/Horticulture office at Atoizu, where the land for the
establishment of the office has already been donated but the office is yet to
be processed, the board members, after deliberation, forwarded the applications
for the creation of the AHO at Atoizu and the maintenance of roads from
Asukuto-Akuluto via Khitsakita for further procedures.
Later, the executive engineer (EE) of the Power department
presented his departmental activities through a PowerPoint presentation. The
chief veterinary officer was entrusted with presenting the departmental
activities at the upcoming March DPDB meeting.
Phek: The Phek
DPDB held its monthly meeting at the DPDB hall under the chairmanship of Z
Nyusietho Nyuthe, MLA and Advisor for New and Renewable Energy, Nagaland State
Disaster Management Authority.
The meeting discussed and deliberated on the importance of
upgrading and improving the approach road to Phek Government College.
The chairman of the DPDB and Minister KG Kenye asked AUDA,
the Department of Urban Development Phek, and the chairman of the Phek Town
Council to take the initiative for the improvement of the college road as
necessary, at the earliest.
Kenye urged the members, particularly the heads of offices,
to enforce a work culture in the offices. He also extended his commendation for
Meluri becoming a full-fledged district of the state.
Nyuthe informed the board that the inauguration of Meluri
district will be held on February 21 at the Meluri district headquarters and
appealed to all heads of district offices under Phek to attend the inauguration
programme without fail.
Proposals for the new registration of the Entrepreneur
Reformation Company Limited, Chazuba town, and the new registration of the
Educare Society, Pfutsero, were discussed and forwarded to the concerned
authority for approval.

presented through PowerPoint by Enyiwekha Wezah, DFO (Forest), Phek, and Dr.
Vethihulu, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
