As a part of events commemorating Republic Day, the department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry of Zunheboto district recently organized a medical camp for livestock.
On January 26, Republic Day, the department conducted a program for livestock as well as a ‘poultry show.” The program also attended to clinical cases and offered free medicines and an anti-rabies vaccination camp.
The program began with the first vaccination session, as an inaugural, for four exotic and crossbred dogs belonging to the deputy commissioner of the district, Temsu Longkumer. According to a report of the district veterinary officer of Zunheboto Dr. Toshi Aier, 91 various clinical cases were treated and given various treatments besides dressing agents. 126 dogs were vaccinated from rabies, the department informed in a note issued on Wednesday.
Further, another event the ‘livestock and poultry show’ was staged as part of the day’s events. Animals were adjudged by a panel of judges and winners were given materials/cash prizes with certificates.
