Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has approved registration of three new societies namely Seven Sister Women Society, Alumni Association of Zunheboto Government College, and Parent-Teacher Association of Zunheboto Government College.
The decision to approved the new society was taken during its monthly meeting held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Peter Lichamo in his office’s conference hall on October 15, a DIPR report stated.
The board also forwarded the request for construction of riverine fishery project for community bio-diversity conservation and riverine fishery at Zaphu river stream as an alternative to jhum cultivation and an additional source of income.
Report stated that the DC had directed the PWD to hand over a complete list of all active labourers to check the concerns suggested by the board members on town maintenance.
The DC further reminded all the departments of the district to strictly implement the ban on single-use plastic and asked them to act as an example for the people of the district. The next DPDB meeting would be held on November 8.
