Zunheboto district constitutes task force for disaster

DIMAPUR — The Zunheboto district has constituted a task force comprising member from all the government departments to oversee every untoward situation in and around the district in the event of natural calamity.

The district task force was constituted during an emergency meeting convened by the deputy commissioner and chairman of Zunheboto district disaster management authority (DDMA), Rahul Bhanudas Mali, held in his office on Wednesday. The district task force would include all concerned departments as members headed by EAC of headquarters, stated a DIPR report.

The meeting was held with the main objective on monsoon preparedness in case of natural calamities. All the concerned ZDDMA line and member departments were asked to be resourceful without any lapse during natural calamities.

The house further agreed to request NSDMA to send technical team to assess the situation for prompt action in order to avoid loss of lives and properties.

Later, the DC along with all the line departments of ZDDMA revisited and verified the current situation at Alahuto colony, where major eroding and sinking of soil was reported thereby threatening of major landslide in the area.
