Dimapur, August 4 : The ACAUT has warned five employees of the Zunheboto Chief Medical Officer establishment, including the CMO himself, that they would be held responsible should any untoward eventuality happen to an ACAUT member who was being said to have been ‘put to duress’ by an underground faction.
The ACAUT issued a press release on Friday stating the warning.
The organization stated that on the 11th of July, an FIR was registered with the Zunheboto police against the office of the CMO for allegedly deducting staffers’ salary under the so-stated “24% NPG ‘salary tax’,”
Following the complaint, the note explained, the CMO obtained anticipatory bail while four of his colleagues were awaiting bail. “In a very unfortunate development, the complainant, an ACAUT core member, has been put under duress by a particular faction to withdraw the FIR. Therefore, the ACAUT is forced to make this public declaration that if anything happens to the complainant, an ACAUT member who filed the FIR on behalf of the movement, the five employees of the CMO establishment, including the CMO Dr. Hokishe, and Accountant Zuhoto, shall be solely responsible.” By a standing ACAUT resolution there is a ‘blanket ban on ACAUT members going to the designated camps of the factions nor are summons acceptable.’
“The state government on their part should ensure that nothing untoward happens to responsible citizens who are always on the forefront fighting for the common good,” the ACAUT added.
