Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): Agriculture Director Ikuto Zhimo has released the newsletter volume-1, 3rd issue, a special edition on observation of Kisan Kalyan Karyashala of Atma Zunheboto district at the Directorate’s Office chamber.
An update from the Atma mentioned that the newsletter was released in the presence of additional director and HOD of Soil and Water Conservation, Viliehu Nguzhu.
Zhimomi in his address said that the farmers of Nagaland in the mid 60’s practiced mono cropping but with the intervention of agri. and allied, today the farmers are mostly practicing mixed cropping and are making a handsome profit. He also stressed on the important of documenting not only on the block level but to the state level as well.
Vielichu Nguzhu also gave words of encouragement to the Atma functionaries. He advised them have a keen sense of curiosity in field work.
K Khekiho Shohe, PD Atma, Zunheboto in his keynote address informed that the Atma Zunheboto is taking up case study on rejuvenation of alternative to Jhum cultivation and need to document the success stories.
The program was attended by senior head of departments, directors, officers of Agriculture and Soil and Water Conservation and officials of Atma Zunheboto.
