Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): Zunheboto district has evolved strategies to eliminate measles rubella during a monthly review meeting of the district health society (DHS) held in the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, on April 16.
Making a powerpoint presentation at the DHS review meeting-cum-transition to fever-rash measles rubella surveillance workshop, the WHO senior medical office Dr. Shiela has stressed on strengthening outbreak response, ensuring weekly district coordination review meeting and strategic objectives to achieve elimination of measles rubella.
An update from the CMO, Zunheboto, stated that the CMO Dr. Akaho Sema, in his short speech, encouraged the member to put more efforts to ensure smooth implementation of the different activities carried out in the district and to improve the performance in the district. Stressing on the importance of proper implementation of any programme, he motivated the health workers to work with mental satisfaction in helping the needy.
He also requested the participants to submit timely submission of SOEs. With the prevailing second waves of Covid-19, he urged all the health workers to be in their place of posting.
Dr. J Hokugha, SMO of Pughoboto CHC, shared on the new Covid-19 SOP and testing strategy, while Dr. Aron Murru, DTO, NTEP, briefed the participants on the national TB elimination programme.
Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH & UIP), has emphasised on the current Covid-19 vaccination status of the district.
The review meeting-cum-workshop was attended by CMO, DTO, DPO (RCH&UIP), SMOs, MOs, programme officers of different vertical programmes and BACs. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rosemary Vitoli, DPM.
