Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): In the joint press statement, the Zeme Student Organisation Manipur(Leisiname Bau) and Land and Boundary Protection Committee (LBPC), Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong District has given appreciation to Awangbou Newmai, Parliamentary Secretary of Minor irrigation, CADA, Agriculture and PWD for initiating the developmental project in Tousem Sub Division, Tamenglong District, reported through a press release.
However, they were dejected to learn that the United bank of India Branch for Tousem Sub Division is planning to be installed at DRDA office Tamenglong. The Frontal organisation has asked Awangbou Newmai to re-consider his statement which was made in the meeting with DLOs on May 11 at Tamenglong Headquarter, it added.
It further stated that, Nehemiah Daime, student leader said that the government also needs justification on the recent order of transfer and posting of MHS Doctor released by the Health Department on May 16 for not including Tousem PHC in the list. He said, this is one of the main reasons why Tousem has always been tag with the most backward sub-division in the state. At present Tousem PHC has only one Doctor, one ANM and Chowkidar which covered around 30 villages. He urges the New Government and the Concern department to look into the matter as soon as possible and to ensure its stand for equality treatment and focus to uplift the weaker section of the society.
