Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) has sympathized with the family members of Akiam, an elderly widow from Mpai village, who was murdered by some unidentified miscreants on the night of January 1 in Jalukie town. ZPO media cell has called upon all right thinking citizens to condemn such abominable and devilish act of cowardice and violence prevailing in the society and also assist the law enforcing agencies to expedite the investigation process in order to book the perpetrator at the earliest.
In a separate statement, Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) has vehemently condemned the ugly incidents in which an elderly woman of Mpai village was murdered on December 30 in Jalukie town, besides rape of minor girl in Bhandari and abduction of caretaker of Naga Cemetery Dimapur.
YAN, while condemning the perpetrators in the highest degree, urged upon the law enforcing agencies to take seriousness and ensure extra measures in coordination with the civil societies and the public to control the menace for the security of society. It urged upon the law enforcing agencies to take stern action the perpetrators without fear or favour and to award befitting punishment as per the law of the land.
