DIMAPUR — The Zeliang Students' Union (ZLSU) has condemned the recent killing of six Zeliangrong Naga men in Manipur, describing the incident as a barbaric and inhuman act that has shocked the conscience of society.
In a statement, the union expressed anguish over the reported abduction, torture, and murder of the victims, stating that no ideology, ethnic difference, political agenda, or conflict could justify such brutality.
It said the crime was not only an attack on innocent individuals but also on human dignity, justice, and the sanctity of life.
The ZLSU further expressed concern over reports of the desecration and inhumane treatment of the victims, calling it a grave violation of human values and an act that had caused immense pain to the bereaved families and the wider Naga community.

The union urged the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and law enforcement agencies to conduct an immediate, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the incident. It demanded that all those responsible be identified, arrested, and brought to justice without delay.
While extending condolences to the bereaved families, the ZLSU also appealed to all communities to reject violence and retaliation and work towards peace, justice, and accountability.
