Zhuikhu Memorial football Gold Cup underway

Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): The 19th edition of M.B.E. Zhuikhu Memorial Football Gold Cup organised by Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA) got underway today at Khaghaboto town with Jacob Zhimomi, MLA as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Jacob made a clarion call that Naga people need a well knitted society and bring one another and not a corrupt, jealous and envious one. He also said that sports is the best platform to bring people together fostering friendship and peace among the people. He urged upon the people to endeavour together with humbleness and sincerity to take Naga society forward to a greater height. Encouraging the sports persons to be confidently ambitious in making sports as their career, Jacob said success is not for those who look for an easy way to reach the top but it is only for those are focused primarily on their objective and pursue it with dedication and hard work. President, CNTC Hokiye Yepthomi delivered a short speech while Lt. Col. Yeshika Awomi spoke on behalf of the trophy donors. The event is being hosted by Khaghaboto Area Sports Association.
