addressing the students during 29th conference of Ato Area Students’ Union on
January 4 in Toshiho village.
- DIMAPUR — Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal
Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, has called upon the student leaders to look after the
welfare of students and pursue quality education at all levels by checking
irregularities such as proxy teaching in educational institutions.
- He stated
this during the 29th conference of Ato Area Students’ Union on January 4 on the
theme "Present efforts, future legacy" in Toshiho village under
Niuland district hosted by Toshiho Ghami Kiphimi Kuqhakulu. The conference
would culminate on January 5.
- He
congratulated Ato Area Students’ Union on attaining 29 glorious years and urged
the members to review achievements and failures and also embark towards the
future. He also encouraged the union to check various irregularities such as
proxy teaching in educational institutions that could hamper the future of
students, stated an update from the union.
- Stressing
that "the structure cannot be stable without strong foundation," he
appealed to the educated parents to give proper direction and career guidance
to children.
- Pointing
out that educated unemployed youth are a liability to the society, he stated
that quality education is the key to achieve success in any field. Reminding
that casual attitude would not help in achieving success but only through a
competitive mindset, he appealed to the students to rededicate themselves
academically and spiritually as there is no shortcut to success. He added that
success stories are full of hard work and perspiration.
- Zhaleo also
called upon the Nagas to revisit their rich cultural heritage and traditions as
the same is found to be diminishing day-by-day among younger generation.
Mentioning the special role of Hornbill Festival by introducing the rich Naga
cultural heritage to the world, he appealed to the people not to criticise the
festival but rather look on its positive side.
