
Dimapur, Jan. 3 (EMN): Zenith Sishunu Kepvunyi Zi outgunned T Zisunyu XI (B) 3-0 in the final match of the 11th Eagles’ Trophy (football), played at Kandi Students’ Union ground, K Station, Tseminyu, on Tuesday.
Zenith SKZ emerged walked away with a cash prize of INR 50,000 along with the running trophy and citations, while the runner-up team received INR 30,000 and citations.
In the individual categories, the player of the match was awarded to Nyithong Magh of Zenith SKZ, 16-year-old Zenilo Seb of Zisunyu XI (B) was named player of the tournament, Nenti Kath of Zenith SKZ bagged the best goal keeper award and Khiti Kath of Zenith SKZ was declared the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
In the valedictory function held on Tuesday, regional transport officer, Roben Mesen, was special guest of the 25th anniversary celebration-cum-11th Eagles’ Trophy, which commenced on December 27, 2022.
The special guest in his address lauded the Eagles’ Club for their exemplary actions in serving the community, be it in sports, education or other social services.
Stating that there is no magical formula to make one a winner, Mesen said it is only through hard work, determination and discipline that a person can excel and succeed.
