Dimapur, May 19 (EMN): The Zeme Students’ Union (N) has warned against proxy or substitute teachers in government schools under its jurisdiction.
According to press release from the union, during an executive council meeting held on May 18, the students union resolved to stick to its annual executive resolution no. 7, which states ‘non-keeping of proxy/substitute teacher.’
The union stated that it had taken several data collection, checked malpractices in educational institution under its jurisdiction and submitted the documents to the concerned department for necessary action.
The union also adopted a resolution to stand firm in making the village schools, the best place for imparting education with suitable and professional teacher posted.
The student body has directed those erring teachers to resume their duties. Failing which, the union informed that stern action will be initiated against the concerned individual and even to the extent of imposing fines up to INR 50,000 for the first defaulter and other necessary action.
Lamenting over poor performance of government institutions in the recently declared result of the HSLC and HSSLC, the union felt the need of extra effort of teachers in bringing out the best of the students.
Also, the union stated that the non-released of SSA teachers is one of the ‘stumbling block’ for teachers in performing their best duties. Therefore, the union has requested the concerned department and the government to look into their grievances as they are the backbone of the society.
The student body also called on the teacher’s fraternity to continue their sincere effort in imparting quality education to the village children.
“The union will not compromise with ‘no work, no pay,’” the press release added.
The union further congratulated all the successful candidates and wished them the best in their future endeavour.
