DIMAPUR — The Zeme Council Nagaland has expressed profound shock and condemned the abduction, torture, and killing of six Naga civilians from Konsakhul village in Manipur.
According to a statement from the council, the act represents a horrific manifestation of human cruelty and stands as a dark stain on the conscience of humanity.
The council stated that the atrocity is a direct assault on human dignity, justice, peace, and the fundamental values of civilisation, adding that no cause, ideology, ethnic animosity, or grievance can justify violence against unarmed civilians.

The Zeme Council Nagaland demanded that the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all concerned authorities immediately undertake a comprehensive, impartial, and time-bound investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible.
Furthermore, the council expressed serious concern over how the incident could occur despite the presence of security forces in the region. It called upon the authorities to address the circumstances that allowed the tragedy to take place and urged all communities to stand united in demanding justice and accountability.
The council extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the people of Konsakhul village and the entire Naga community.
