Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): The Zeliangrong Youth Front has condemned the incident that took place on September 6 that burnt down houses and a church besides alleged firing of several rounds of shots from automatic guns.
In a press release issued by its media and publicity cell, the Zeliangrong Youth Front has stated that use of automatic weapon by the “civilians is a direct challenge and undermining the very existence of the competent authority” and urged both the central and state governments to book those responsible for burning down the village.
“The Govt. of India and Govt. of Nagaland should not underestimate the Zeliangrong people when the matter is related to land and its people,” read the statement.
“But the Zeliangrong people being the law abiding citizen will wait and see and urged for immediate intervention of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Nagaland before things go beyond too far and also demanded to conduct an impartial enquiry into the matter and demarcate the boundary base on traditional land boundary between different tribes of Nagaland for once and for all,” it added.
The Zeliangrong Youth Front has also warned that the central and state governments will be held responsibility if “any negative consequences” occur “due to the negligence of the competent authority.”
