Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation (ZMO)- women organisation in Nagaland, held its annual session at Samziuram village council hall on May 28. It was hosted by the Samziuram village women organisation.
Abei-ü Meru, president of Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), was the special guest, and she accompanied by the vice president, Sarah Nuh. A book on the Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation’s 32nd anniversary edition was released by the special guest.
In her speech, Abei-ü Meru apprised the women about the formation of NMA and its functioning since its beginning till date. She encouraged women leaders and members to continue on the deliberation of 33% reservation for women and stressed on the need and importance of women participation in decision making for the betterment and development of the society.
The programme was chaired by Kikwale, ZMO joint secretary, while the invocation was said by Achan, SVWO treasurer, and a song was presented by Samziuram village women.
In a welcome address, Apeuna Iheilung, ZMO president, acknowledged the Zeliangrong Baudi and NMA for their constant support and encouragement. The vote of thanks was delivered by Alungle Kwame, ZMO vice president, and the benediction was pronounced by Hailamrang, former ZMO general secretary.
The programme was attended by women leaders from all the villages/ towns under Peren district. President of the Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB), CR Zeliang and his wife, along with his colleagues and well wishers from the locality attended the programme.
In the second session, reports and several agenda were deliberated and resolved.
