ZSUN condemns an alleged firing incident targeting Zeliangrong community commuters travelling from Dimapur to Jalukie.

DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has condemned the reported firing incident involving commuters from the Zeliangrong community while travelling from Dimapur to Jalukie in the early hours of June 5.
In a press release, the ZSUN stated that, according to information brought to its notice, the victims were allegedly followed by an unidentified maroon Alto vehicle, along with an individual dressed in combat fatigues, from the vicinity of the DIET Training Centre, Merryland, under Chümoukedima district.
Despite repeatedly giving way to allow the vehicle to overtake, the vehicle reportedly continued to follow them aggressively, the union stated.
According to the union, the situation escalated near Pimla between 1:50 am and 2:00 am when a gunshot was allegedly fired at the commuters’ vehicle. The bullet reportedly pierced the vehicle, causing visible damage.
The ZSUN condemned the incident, stating that it posed a grave threat to human life.
The union urged the concerned law enforcement agencies to take immediate cognisance of the matter and expedite the identification and apprehension of those responsible without bias or prejudice.
