DIMAPUR — The All
Zeliangrong Students' Union, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN) and the
All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) held their respective union assemblies in Peren
and Satami villages.
AZSU-AMN convened its 5th dimki/union assembly for the
2022–2025 tenure at Peren Village Community Hall on May 27, hosted by the Peren
Students' Union in collaboration with the Zeliangrong Students' Union.
According to an update, the gathering was attended by the
federating units of AZSU-AMN, namely ZSUA, ZSUM, and ZSUN, with over 100
delegates participating in deliberations. Various Zeliangrong leaders from
Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland also attended the occasion.
Before the deliberation of the assembly agendas, the house
acknowledged the thoughtful contribution of one of its senior members on the
ongoing political dialogue between the government of India and the Zeliangrong
United Front.
The house unanimously agreed to extend its full cooperation
towards fulfilling the aspirations of the Zeliangrong people as soon as
possible.
During the assembly, the house extensively discussed issues
affecting the community and collectively adopted key resolutions, including
standing firm against any form of land encroachment in Zeliangrong-inhabited
areas by foreign inhabitants.
The house reached an agreement that no underground (UG)
groups shall be permitted to set up camps within Zeliangrong-inhabited areas.

and prior approval by the Zeliangrong community would be considered a direct
challenge to the community.

The house urged all Zeliangrong citizens to remain vigilant
and uphold this resolution with unwavering dedication, reaffirming its
commitment to peaceful yet firm measures and rightful control over its land and
affairs.
The house also discussed the AZSU-AMN diamond jubilee and
ZSUM platinum jubilee celebrations. It considered AZSU’s participation in the
Naga Students' Federation Martyrs Trophy Tournament and resolved to deliberate
further.
Meanwhile, the All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) held its 3rd
union assembly for the 2024–26 tenure at Satami village on May 31, hosted by
the Eastern Sümi Students’ Union.
According to an update, the event was chaired by Ili Gloria
Phuleshe, media coordinator of the Sümi Totimi Hoho, and included the unveiling
of the 3rd Union Assembly monolith by Gihuka K Zhimo, president of SKK,
followed by the hoisting of the flag by Imeka Z Awomi, assembly speaker of SKK.
The assembly speaker, along with deputy speaker Ino Obet
Zhimo and assembly secretary Jubito Chishi, welcomed representatives from 16
affiliated units of SKK, marking it as one of the most successful gatherings of
this tenure.
Key topics discussed included strong opposition to the
ongoing 48-year reservation policy by the government of Nagaland and updates on
the development of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA).
