Dimapur, June 28 (EMN): The Zeliangrong Naga national workers and civil organisations constituted at Punglwa village on Saturday discussed the issue of Kukis residing in Athibung sub-division under Peren district and resolved to oppose the existence of any separate body other than the Zeliangrong region NNC, parent body of 2nd Bn. D company Athibung area.
In a press release issued on Sunday, it stated that the resolution was taken during the first consultative meeting of the Zeliangrong Naga national workers and civil organisations.
The house deliberated on several issues pertaining to Zeliangrong people especially its history, land and reaffirmed to support the Naga political solution and to have unity among the Zeliangrong people living in different parts of the state.
Further, the house resolved to support the present delimitation move by the delimitation commission of India for equal representatives in the state assembly.
The meeting was attended by ZUF chairman Raitu Chawang, member working committee NNPG Liangkebo, host of ZLR national workers from NNC, parent body, NNPG, ZUF, GPRN/NSCN along with CSOs comprising of chairmen of the Union Peren District, GBs Union Peren District, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland, Zeliangrong Mipui Organization Nagaland, Zeme Council, and Liangmai Council.
