Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has recalled Gaidon Kamei from his position as the president of United Naga Council (UNC), Manipur with immediate effect.
A statement from the organisation on Thursday stated that it had recommended Kamei, in the larger interest of the Naga people, to represent the Zeliangrong people in the UNC and serve the Naga people. “…but his performance and activities are complete contradictory to expectation of the people and also gross violation to Constitution of the United Naga Council, Manipur of which blamed (sic) cannot be borne by the Zeliangrong people.
“Consultations have been held regarding his performance and activities and at last the decision to call him back from the United Naga Council, Manipur has been taken in the larger interest of the Naga people,” the statement read.
