Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has expressed its concern over the allegation made by some civil society organisations against the “functioning and credibility” of the Naga Hoho, terming it as “immature.”
The statement from Zeliangrong Baudi came after five major tribal organisations expressed concern on the present situation of Naga hoho in a joint statement.
Stating that Zeliangrong Baudi has been a part of the Naga Hoho in all decision and activities taken since its inception in the larger interest of the Naga people, the apex body of the Zeliangrong people said ‘it is quite absurd and at the same time saddened to learn the immature statement of some organisations dragging the Naga
Hoho into non-issue to the extent of insulting the Naga apex body of alleging of going to southward direction which is indirectly pointing finger to southern Nagas with intention of creating division based on section and region within the Naga family.’
“We also appeal Naga people not to be misled by such cheap propaganda with sinister design. At this critical juncture it is the collective responsibility of every Naga tribe to strengthen the Naga Hoho which is the only platform that can reach out to every nook and corner of Naga area irrespective of region or territory/direction,” read a statement issued by Zeliangrong Baudi general secretary Gainithoi Gonmei.
The statement claimed that all decisions and “resolution adopted by the Naga Hoho are “strictly adhered to the provision of the constitution of the Naga Hoho with the participation of the tribe Hohos representing their respective tribes irrespective of direction or region and therefore, all Nagas should uphold the decision of the Naga Hoho in the larger interest of the Naga people.”
