The already jumbo-sized ministry of Chief Minister TR Zeliang led DAN government, which has two more days to go for the completion of one year, today witnessed further expansion with the inclusion of five more MLAs as advisors with Cabinet status.
They include the remaining two MLAs of BJP – Imtilemba Sangtam and Dr T M Lotha and also former president of State Congress S I Jamir along with two of the dissident NPF MLAs Thongwang Konyak and Naiba Konyak.
The departments allocated to the five of them are: SI Jamir-- Urban Development, Imtilemba Sangtam – Cooperation, Dr. TM Lotha – Treasury & Accounts, Relief and Rehabilitation, Naiba Konyak – Bamboo Mission and Thongwang Konyak – DUDA.Consequent upon today’s inclusion of the five advisors into the ‘opposition-less government’, Zeliang has included 41 legislators of the 60 elected members into his ministry. He previously had 12 Cabinet Ministers and 24 Parliamentary Secretaries, who were sworn in phase manners till May 8.
The Chief Minister administered oath of office and affirmation to the new advisors at his official chamber in the State Civil Secretariat here.
