Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): Attendance in government offices in Zunheboto district will now be "strictly checked"—or at least for now it says so in paper. Absentees will be in for penalty, according to a legislator.
The government's publicity agency, department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), offered updates about said development.
Attendance of government employees in Zunheboto district will be "strictly checked" and "absentees will be penalised accordingly," according to the IPR quoting Khehovi Yepthomi, advisor for Tourism and Art and Culture.
He is also the chairman of the Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board.
The updates stated that the advisor gave the statement during the monthly meeting of the board, which was held on
May 8 in Zunheboto. He directed the "outpost ADCs" (additional deputy commissioners) to 'have constant checking of attendance of the employees under their jurisdiction,' the IPR stated.
The deputy commissioner of the district, Shanavas C, added too: “From now on, DPDB attendance will be strictly maintained and all outpost officers are to attend the next DPDB meeting positively.”
The chairman also gave away prizes to winners of a painting competition that was conducted in commemoration of World Water Day on March 23.
In other matters, the IPR reported that the board has "agreed to contribute" from the salary of government employees in the district toward "the survival or continuation of the lone Zunheboto Government College."
According to the IPR, the college is "about to face de- recognition from the UGC if certain criteria are not fulfilled by the college administration."
