Dimapur, Dec. 8: Seven mandal (board) presidents of BJP in Zunheboto district have suggested foul play at the recent dismissal of three senior leaders from their respective positions in the Nagaland BJP ranks.
A press release from the seven board presidents on Thursday called for reinstatement of the three leaders to their respective posts. “Sources said that the state BJP president has informed the three aggrieved officials at Saramati Hotel Dimapur on December 5 about the action taken, that he has been directed by Ram Madhav, general secretary (and) north east in-charge when the two meet at Guwahati on December 1.
“This created confusion because. Visasolie Lhoungu, state BJP president was present at Kisama Hornbill festival on that very day. This confusion must be justified to satisfy the party workers in the state,” the seven board presidents have demanded.
While stating their “displeasure over the recent development”, they reminded the party leadership that the three sacked leaders – James Vizo, Mghato Achumi and Yanghose Sangtam – were “found sincere and dedicated” BJP party workers.
They appealed the state party leadership to cite “reasons of action” and also for Ram Madhav to “justify” the dismissal of the three senior leaders. “Because, such unhealthy decision shall certainly jeopardize and demoralize the working spirit of the party workers in general.
Hence, the mandal president(s) of Zunheboto district jointly appealed (sic) to the party high office to revoke the earlier order and reinstate the three officials in to their respective assignments for good,” the press release stated.
