Dimapur, May 27 (EMN): In continuation with the joint declaration of Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) & Zeliangrong Union (ZU) at Zeliangrong Union Building Imphal on November 15 2016, that ZB/ZU will become a single apex body for Zeliangrong people of 3 states. The joint consultative meeting reaffirmed to unite into a single apex body of Zeliangrong people.
The meeting resolved to hold General Convention at Tamenglong on the 25th October 2017 to discuss Zeliangrong issues and elect a new team of office bearers for 3 years term. The general public convention shall be jointly organised by ZB & ZU.
The meeting has also resolved that both Union/Baudi shall continue to hold their office till the general convention. However, no provocative statements will be made in public/media till the new team is constituted.
The joint consultative meeting also resolved to appoint 4 members each from Union & Baudi to draft the new constitution with reference to the existing Constitution of ZB & ZU and the new Constitution shall be approved during the General Convention and shall come into effect.
The drafting committee shall submit the final draft at the earliest at Dimapur. The drafting committee shall comprise of the following members; 1. Amu Kamei 2. Prof. Meijinlung Kamson 3. Azang Rongmei 4. Dichamang Pamei 5. Dr. Poujenlung Gonmei 6. Dr. Gairiangmei. 7. T. Mihru. 8. K. Elu Ndang.
