Dimapur, August 24 (EMN): Zuketsa Area Public Organisation (ZAPO) has expressed displeasure over the alleged apathy of the School Education Department in suppressing the voice of the people and denying the right of the landowners and subsequent locked down of Government High School, Zuketsa, under SDEO Pfutsero four times by the landowners.
In this regard ZAPO along with village council chairman and his colleagues and Head GBs of Leshemi, Lasumi and Zapami villages met the Principal Director of School Education on August 22 and submitted a representation which was counter singed by Ngupelo Therie, president ZAPO; Wezhiepe Sara, chairman Leshemi village council; Lonyichu Pradia, chairman Lasumi village council; and Zewekha Wetsah, chairman Zapami village council.
In a representation, the area leaders briefed the Principal Director that the Government High School, Zuketsa under SDEO Pfutsero was locked down for the 4th time by the land owners because the department failed to adhere by the resolution of land owners and supported by the 3 above mentioned villages and Zuketsa Area Public Organization (ZAPO).
ZAPO warned that the department would be solely held responsible in the event of any untoward incident(s) arising out of the issue. The organisation also appealed the government to review the committee decision taken by the Directorate of School Education headed by Principal Director in order to bring an amicable solution and to further avoid any problems in the future.
