Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): The Zapami Welfare Union Dimapur (ZWUD) organised get together program on April 22 at Kuzhami Baptist Church, Chumukedima.
The program was chaired by Kennedy Khutso, chairman ZWUD, invocation prayer was pronounced by Zechepe Kreo while opening song was sung by Lhiche-u Khutso.
Nguzonyi Wetsah, in his exhortation urged the gathering to participate in social works that will promote self and develop the community. He also made an appeal to all the members to effectively contribute in the welfare activities as per their own capacity.
Neizulo Khutso stressed on the importance of upholding the values of truth and honesty so that the identity of the community. He also mentioned on the rich cultural traditions and the importance of adopting cultures which are good and relevant in the present times. Also speaking on the occasion, Senowekha K Kenye challenged the gathering to move forward with a vision of doing well in a world full of choices. He also emphasised on the need of giving priority to the children and youths to attend social gathering and church programs so that they have enough exposure to develop oneself and contribute to the welfare. In this fast changing world, he said it is never too late to do good things.
Advisor Kedutsolo Wetsah reminded on the need to respect leaders and elders.
Nguzonyi Wetsah read out the resolutions of the ZWUD and rules adopted by the gathering.
The new office bearers of the ZWUD for the Tenure (2017 -2020) were also elected during the meeting. The new team will be led by Kennedy Khutso as chairman and Zechepe Kreo as vice chairman, nine members and three advisors.
