Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Yimchungrü Union Dimapur (YUD) has vehemently condemned the threat on the life of Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) president, an apex body of Yimchungrü tribe, allegedly by one Mukhe, finance committee member of the Khango-led NSCN (K) on November 17.
In a press release, YUD president Albinus Atsumong stated that such kind of ‘intimidation and character assassination’ was ‘unacceptable and unjustifiable’ under any circumstances. He has denounced the act aiming at creating further disunity amongst the various sections of the society.
YUD further stated that threats and other unwanted activities in this civilised society were uncalled for when the Nagas are yearning for peace and reconciliation. He has appealed to the various Naga political groups to maintain peace and tranquillity and work for the common cause of the Nagas rather than inviting unwanted environment in order to create a congenial peaceful atmosphere and in the larger interest of the society and peoples as well.
