The Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) appealed the ‘Naga political groups’ (NPGs) the need for a collective approach in order to find an honourable solution acceptable to all which must be sincerely explored inclusively with all cross-section of the Naga people
According to the YTC, the protracted Indo-Naga-Burma/Myanmar political issue has indeed come a long way where revolutionary and patriotic participant Naga generations have witnessed the turbulent and periodic volumes and accounts of the struggling Naga history to testify the undeniable ground-breaking need for an amicable solution and honourably ending of the legitimate historical and political rights of the Naga people. “For the same, the Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) earnestly appealed to all ‘Naga political groups’ (NPGs) to humbly bear in mind the need for a collective approach in order to find an honourable solution acceptable to all which must be sincerely explored inclusively with all cross-section of the Naga people. This public appeal as stake-holders also carries a political mandatory statement which should not be overlooked and surpassed,” a statement from the YTC said. “Therefore, a consensus political approach and a model build upon should be a base for the different ‘political groups’ in broad-based consultations with all stake-holders, and for which the different standards of positive and unbiased opinions, stands, and initiatives of the different groups cannot be politically ignored,” it added.
The YTC then reminded the NPGs that in contradiction to the above and adopting the policy of exclusiveness amongst the different ‘NPGs’ may lead to repeating the painful and unpleasant past, and to which the Nagas must not succumb. Devoid of political consensus and broad-based consultations amongst all sections of the Nagas would be self-inflicting and may consequently lead into leaving the socio-political fate and future of the Nagas at the hands of uncertainty of dark clouds hanging over our heads like the ‘Sword of Damocles’.
“In addition, the Government of India is duly and fundamentally reminded in good faith that the opinions and voices of the common men should be seriously considered in a democratic and republic country like India,” it added.
