
Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports department (YRS), S Keoshu Yimchunger, the special guest of the programme, congratulated the medal winners and encouraged other trainees to work hard with dedication to secure medals, a DIPR report stated.
The Advisor urged the trainees to be more disciplined and committed so that they can excel and go beyond others.
He also highlighted the interest of the government of Nagaland in the sports sector which, he said, is a promising avenue for people committed to sports as a career.

Director of YRS, Akumla Chuba, highlighted the department's initiative to encourage sportspersons including scholarships and remedial classes for academy trainees.
Visabei-u Peseyie, taekwondo coach, presented a brief profile of taekwondo in Nagaland.
Medal winners felicitated on the occasion included Shiusuthong Tikhir (gold in under-23 kg category) and Shiuthong (silver under-25 kg) at the 36th National Sub-junior Taekwondo Championship held at Cuttack, Odisha; Manong Konyak (bronze in under-41 kg), Thongti Thonger (bronze in under-45 kg and Longkhon Phom (bronze in under-57 kg) at the 5th Cadet under-14 National Taekwondo Championship held at Kota, Rajasthan.
