Dimapur, October 14: A felicitation programme for Taekwondo boys’ team and U-17 Girls football team was held at Multi Purpose hall, IG Stadium, Kohima on October 14 in the presence of the director of YR&S, Asangla Imti and senior officials of the department.
During the 62nd National School Games held at Telangana, the Nagaland Taekwondo team participated in the U-14 and U- 17 Boys categories and secured the team champion in the Under-17 Boys category for the first time. The state Taekwondo Team bagged 9 medals during the championship.
The department of YR&S also felicitated U-17 girls football team for securing the runner-up during the Subroto International Football Tournament held at Delhi.Football Coach, Ruopfu Meyase and Taekwondo Coach, Visabiu Peseyie thanked the YR&S Department for sponsoring and supporting the teams. The programme was chaired by Deputy Director, Nizheto Awomi and Vice Principal Kohima Bible College, Pete Krose said the Invocation.
