YouthNet hosted a business pitching session on North East Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NEEDP) on February 15 at YouthNet Incubation Centre, Dimapur.

The business pitching session provided a platform for entrepreneurs and startups to showcase their innovative ideas and potentially secure funding for their ventures, an update from YouthNet stated.

The panel of judges included eminent personalities like Debapratim Das, chief finance officer and senior mentor of IIM Calcutta; Keneirienuo K Theunuo, assistant director (Tech) and team leader Startup India, department of Industries and Commerce; Nuneseno Chase, director of YouthNet; Dr. Ditalak Mpanme, assistant professor of Management from Nagaland University; and  Rajarshi Sarma, programme head of IIM Calcutta Innovation Park.

It stated that around forty startups and entrepreneurs from Nagaland pitched for their business, witnessing strong presentation skills, compelling value proposition and in-depth understanding of the target market and competition.

It mentioned that NEEDP, an initiative of North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented in association with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, is aimed at creating an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that could help foster socio-economic development and employment generation in the Northeast region.

As a part of this initiative, North East Entrepreneurship Challenge (Hunt) is being organised for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs across all the eight states of Northeast to identify a target group of 270 entrepreneurs through a systematic, transparent selection process ensuring representation from each state, it informed.

Those startups would be taken through incubation (for revenue stage startups) and pre-incubation (for pre-revenue stage startups) programmes, which would help them to commercialise and grow their businesses, it added. (Dimapur, EMN)
